“Chasm†offers a commentary on the disastrous rifts that seem to be so prevalent in today's relationships between a man and a woman. Pent up energy is on the verge of release in this dynamic painting, symbolizing a woman's unavoidable leave-taking. Handicapped by his inability to communicate directly to the woman, the man in the painting uses a mechanical device, the phone, in hopes of reconnecting what, unfortunately, has already been lost. - (AP.0003)
