Miniature from Iran - hand painted on a panel of ivory, it depicts polo players on horseback. Mounted on green velvet and framed in a Khatam work surround. This intricate inlay is a speciality of the region of Isfahan and is a mosaic of ivory decorated with gold and red. On the rear is a printed card from Ahmad Maznoon, Medallist from His Imperial Majesty for Inlaid Works. Circa 1960.
