This is a charcoal schetch by Ken Harkless of the Wawasee-Waco Dance Hall. It was complete in 1923 and to meet the requirements of the parking space th road was moved back and sand was pumped from the lake for fill. In the 1930's great bands of the era were booked including Wayne King, Glenn Miller, Guy Lambardo, Cab Calloway, Tony Bennett. Waco became famous nationally. If you would sit on the other side of Wawasee you could hear the music as if you right at Waco itself. This will always be remembered as a great place for the Wawasee summer people, as well as the locals. These prints are on a great grade of manilla paper suitable for framing.
