Born in 1927 in Rabat, Morocco, this painting is by French artist Claude Ponsot. Ponsot was educated at the Ecole de Beaux Arts-Rabat in Morocco before studying at the Paris ateliers of Perrier, Andre Lhote and Fernand Leger. He moved to the US in 1959 with his wife, poet Marie Ponsot.
