This zoomorphic effigy vessel is made of fine brown-ware. Its execution in form is sharp and well defined. Four mammiform legs support an open winged bat in flight. The body is chambered with a center wide spout. Its large upturned boxy head is detailed with pointed ears, nose and fangs. Above his head, his front arms hold an oversized adornment by use of a crosspiece. Tail is elevated and serves as an additional spout.
This ceramic style is no doubt one of the finest expressions of Tairona art.
