Coastal Manabi Province, Ecuador, Ca 1 to 500 AD, blackware vessel of saucer-shape with small cylindrical platform on which a reclining monkey rests on his elbow. Top of monkey’s headdress acts as spout. 10"H x 8"D. Broken and repaired from perhaps a dozen pieces, monkey reattached with minor restoration to lower stomach, still quite rare form!
