Published piece! From ancient Peru, North Coast, Moche III or IV, ca. 200 - 500 AD. Redware pottery figure with strongly molded features; large, almond-shaped eyes, hooked nose and large ears; she wears dangles through her ears and holds her hands to her chest. Her over-sized head compared to the compact, squat body suggests that it may be a female dwarf. Fire-clouded surface with traces of cream slip details. 7-5/8"H, cleaned of salt deposits, surface abraded. Accession no. N-457.
