Fabulous iconography! Pre-Columbian, Moche III, ca. 400 AD, northern Peru. A wonderful piece of Moche art, in the form of a stirrup vessel; painted in fine-line technique showing the Moche underworld deity - Ai Apec - on each side of the vessel in the form of a lobster. 8"H, intact/excellent condition, with stabilized stress cracks toward the base of one side not affecting much of the art.
