Unusual - although we have been lucky to find four similar examples (email for pics/details of others). Moche, from ancient north coastal Peru, ca 500 to 700 AD. Polychrome pottery vessel in the form of an open flower - similar in appearance to the more common "florero." Painted in tan and deep brown with edges to the rim cut away; base and inner rim glazed, remainder buff. 5-3/8"H x 6-3/8" top diameter, appears choice to excellent, but has been repaired from a few large fragments with restoration over breaklines.
