Superbly crafted Jamacoaque mask depicting a shaman in transformation, possibly into a dragon. Nicely detailed with crisply incised teeth, horns on the forehead and good paint throughout. Fine condition. Pepper tree bark (yellow) and ochre (green,red) used for coloring. Manabi region, Ecuador. 300 BC - 400 AD. Measures 3 1/2".
