By itself, a very fine and lovely ancient textile, but framed properly - as it now is - it has become a true example of ancient art! From north-coastal Peru, most likely Chancay, Ca 1000 to 1200 AD, a very unusual and fine textile headband. Woven of camelid and HUMAN hair, with large central panel in red, and dark brown bands to each side. Measures 36" x 18".
