A most unusual grouping of early Chavin amulets, ca 1000 BC, northern Peru. First, and by far the most rare of all amulets we have seen from the Chavin culture, a small carved stone amulet in the form of a stirrup vessel; with rounded base and opening at spout, this is high art in miniature! Next, is a bone animal head - note the expressively drilled eyes. Finally, a small clam-shell carving of a human foot. 3/4" to 1-1/4", each choice. Category:Chavin Material:Stone Dimensions:3/4" to 1-1/4" Condition:Intact
