Extremely Rare Antique Pre -Columbian Protoclassic circa 150 B.C.-250 A.D. very finely sculpted Jalisco polychrome ceramic Figure depicting a standing female with large rounded proportions overall. She is standing on large arched feet, her foreshortened arms outstretched, voluminous breasts and broad shoulders adorned with a necklace. Painted overall in white buff paint.
CONDITION: The figure comes from an Old Canadian Collection of Pre-Columbian art with its paper label inventory numbering the back and is in its original condition. Custom mounted on a stand with brass roped wire around the neck for security. In good condition considering its age, crack in the left arm, minor loss of the polychrome, otherwise in good condition consistent with age.
