This item has been SOLD. A female votive figure from the Jamma Coaque people of Ecuador,characterized by her wide turban and voluptuous figure. Standing with hands joined, holding a small staff or scroll. There are remnants of burnished pigment over a tan/gray clay, but little identifiable decoration remains. The right shoulder has been repaired and other cracks at the neck have also been filled by a former owner. An attractive piece, nicely restored. Not frequently encountered.
