Condition: Intact, superb, with excessive iridescence.
Provenance: Ex: American private collection, Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Measurements: 4.6 inches high (11.7 cms).
A Cylindrical beaker with a circular pad base, wheel-cut grooves and a fine glass trail wrapped around its center; a fine layer of silvery iridescence on the beaker's interior. Although the shape resembles early Roman beakers, the fabric of this piece is more consistent with a later date, probably 3rd or 4th century A.D.
