A heavy, fluted handle terminating in a collar from which emerges a ram's head with curled horns. The patera was an object used by the Romans to make offerings to the gods, an integral part of Roman life. Found in Samaria (Biblical Shomron). In very good condition with details largely intact and light greenish patina.
