A very high quality cylinder seal in agate, Syria, during Achaemenide Dynasty (ancient Persian empire), 600-400 BC.
Exceptionally sharp seal, depicting the great king armed with a dagger fighting a human headed beast with wings and a horned animal. The scene also depicts a palm tree which is typical fro the Persian seals. Note the fantastic stone quality and patina!
