Rare Wide Shallow Bowl with rising notch looping handle, of the Early Bronze Age Circa. 3100 - 2900 B.C.E. The style is not found in Amiran but is a Bab ahd-Dhra form, see Ancient Pottery of Transjordan #47 for a bowl of the same style and fabric with intermediate depth. Bab ahd-Dhra is considered to be the ancient Sodom and Gommorah and was destroyed at the end of the early bronze age. This ware is handmade in a light color with pinkish areas especially at bottom. The bowl measures 17.5 cm diameter (near 7 inches) handle to rim, 15.3 cm diameter (6 inches)rim to rim and 4.2 cm (1.7 inches) height. The vessel is intact with no repairs or restoration.A lucite stand WILL be included.
