Bamiyan Splashed Sgraffiato Bowl - LO.873, Origin: Central Asia, Circa: 1100 AD to 1200 AD, Dimensions: 3" (7.6cm) high x 6.25" (15.9cm) wide, Collection: Islamic Art, Style: Bamiyan, Medium: Buff Earthenware. Splashed sgraffiato ware,the body of buff earthenware with low rounded cavetto, tall sloping walls and rim, resting on a foot-ring. The inside surface incised with simple flower design, the petals radiating from the cavetto, the space between ornamented by wavy incised lines. Manganese and green splashes applied in vertical lines falling from the rim.
