15.7cm height (6 3/16 inches), 37.8cm (14 1/2 inches) circumference. A beautiful green glazed Parthian amphora with two handles. This is one of the rarer forms of ancient pottery in existence. The amphora has a verticle and diagonal ribbed design checked with a rectangular pattern. The rectangular pattern also circles the top of the amphora. A little faded but MUCH better than most surviving specimens. Some chips, but with rich color and translucence. This amphora is original and intact as found with no repair. See photos, taken under different lighting conditions for detail. Truly a unique and beautiful piece of glazed eastern pottery in a hard to find condition that will enhance any ancient pottery collection.
