Quite the large and spectacular ring! From ancient Rome, ca 1st to 2nd centuries AD. Handcrafted in solid silver in triangular shape with incised portrait set into raised oval "frame." Portrait of bearded male, possibly a loved one off to battle in the Roman Legions, or a Roman ruler. Ring measures 1-3/8"L x 7/8"H (opening is 9/16"D, about a size 3-1/2 to 4, indicating it was certainly meant for a woman). Surface worn as shown, but still wearable and in excellent condition. A very solid and heavy amount of silver... Category:Roman Material:Silver Dimensions:1-3/8"L x 7/8"H Condition:Intact
