Rare scene! Magna Graecia - Campania or Apulia in southern Italy, ca. 325 BC. Black glazed pottery vesel with rounded body, long neck and rounded handle. Stamped center is Mercury - messenger of the gods - holding ceduceas in his right hand, cloak flowing off his shoulders. 4-3/4"H x 4-1/2"W (including handle), intact/in excellent condition with silvery patina and a bit of removable encrustation.
