Greek, Southern Italy, Daunia, mid-4th Century B.C. Light-tan clay wine cup with applied orange and black pigment, body with prominently molded rim and high-arched strap handles; decoration to interior in black and orange consisting of geometric wheel motif surrounded by two thick orange bands; exterior wall with vertical orange and black bands flanking either side of central orange rectangle which itself forms a frame to horizontal black tongue; single black band above and below, the latter forming a concentric circle around wheel motif situated on base of bowl; each handle with two vertical black bands flanking either side of orange band. 3"H x 7"W, intact/excellent. Rare and colorful example!
