What wonderful art in miniature! Egyptian, dating to the Late Dynastic to Ptolemaic Period, ca 600 to 200 BC. Hair pin carved from section of ivory; atop stand a nude goddess or concubine, her tunic dropped to just below her waist, hands held upward. 2-1/2"L, mounted in Lucite base, lower section missing from antiquity.
