Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, Ca 652 to 300 BC. Rare wooden panel decorated with single line of deeply-carved and colored glyph band indicating this was a chest belonging to the Egyptian Treasury. One can only imagine the incredible objects this chest must have held! 18-3/8"L x 4-3/4"H, in excellent condition with upper section reattached. Mounted on custom museum-grade stand.
