An ancient Egyptian finely painted multi color wood panel depicting a standing diety wearing a nemeth head cloth, regal beard, long red robe, and holding a larger feather of Maat. To the right, a vertical light blue register of Hieroglyphic inscription, all within a gold border.
Culture: Egyptian.
Date: Circa 2nd Century BC - 1st Century AD.
Origin: Ptolemaic or Early Roman period.
Measurements: 10.5 inches high, (26.5 cms).
Condition: intact, superb.
Provenance: Ex: Christies auction, London, lot 166, 25 October, 2006.
The inscription reads:
"Words to be recited by Osiris....your son, whom you love..."
