The Teotihuacans were a sophisticated and vibrant Mayan society established near Mexico City in approx 100 B.C.
At its height of growth and building of the greatest pyramids in Mesoamerica from 100 A.D. to 250 A.D., the city of Teotihuacan, grew to an estimated population of 125,000, the 6th largest city in the world.
Sophisticated builders, the Teotiuacans constructed the famous Pyramids of the Sun and Moon during this period, as well as multi-floor dwellings, thriving for another 300 years til 550 A.D. when they were systematically attacked and the city burned over many years. Still, they survived until approx 800 A.D.
