Very decorative and unusual polychrome bowl from the Michoacan region of Mexico, ca 200 BC to 400 AD. Redware vessel decorated with two standing bird figures, these separated by abstract half-circular spiked designs, rim decorated with black and white wave, inside with additional wave pattern. Bowl measures 7" D by 3-5/8" H and in good to excellent condition with 5 stabilized stress cracks and minor rim chipping. Ex private US collection acquired in the 1970's.
