Part of an exceptionally rare collection of ancient Mayan mask molds, from Jaina Island, Mexico, dating between 500 and 700 AD. The mold on the right side in the form of a bird, and on the left, the mask being formed from the interior mold of the other. The small accompanying face was created in this mold, but is not ancient. Custom museum-quality stand. Mold measures just under 2"H.
