This terracotta vessel is globular with a unique Crescent shape. Narrow flared spout with a very distinguished and carefully rendered face. This masterpiece has an overall reddish-brown slip and the features are molded into the clay that project outward. His face is painted off white and outlined in black for contrast. The coloring on the angled linear band atop the forehead is a faded blue-gray. Black remains on the peripheral. Scattered mineral deposits throughout the front. Rim pieces and nose tip has been reattached with minimal paint over break lines. A very rare find. Measures 5.5†tall by 7†wide
