Forgive me, but I come at this completely from a male perspective and must wonder what was the motivation behind the "artist" who made this piece? Here is a large pottery flat of either a young female who is trying to show the world - Hey World, I have Boobies! - or, conversely, an older woman who says to the world - Hey World, I still have my boobies (albeit quite saggy)! Either way, this female figure is decorated with ear-spools, necklace, armband and headdress, wearing a skirt, hands supporting her not-so-perky small breasts. A very unusual piece, but quite charming! Ca 300 to 100 BC, West Mexico. She stands 7-3/4"H x 2-7/8"W, and is intact/choice condition. Custom museum-quality stand included but not shown.
