An amazing example! Papagayo polychrome, ca. 1200-1350 AD, Nicoya, Northwest Costa Rica, Central America. The detail of one of the tripod feet of the vessel demonstrates the great skill employed in its production. Footed pottery bowl sits upon three rattle legs in form of a fanged jaguars (rattle balls still inside/functioning!). Wonderful iconography! 4-1/2"H x 7"W at widest, one leg re-attached cleanly plus small rim chip, else excellent. Category:Nicoya Material:Pottery Dimensions:4-1/2"H x 7"W Condition:Repaired
