Islamic Bronze Ewer - AMD.129, Origin: Central Asia, Circa: 1100 AD to 1200 AD, Dimensions: 9.4" (23.9cm) high x 4.7" (11.9cm) wide, Collection: Islamic Art, Medium: Bronze. This is a pear-shaped ewer standing on a rather high slopping foot. It has a simple raised collar at the base of the neck. The undulated strap handle consists of a bold palmette finial topped with a knob. The exterior of the body is engraved with horizontal registers of calligraphic scripts. Arabesque motifs also dominate the surface of the belly of the ewer.
