Copper Alloy Oil Lamp - LO.1029, Origin: Central Asia, Circa: 11 th Century AD to 12 th Century AD, Dimensions: 5.5" (14.0cm) high, Collection: Islamic Art, Style: Seljuk, Medium: Quarternary Bronze. Oil lamp with flattened globular body, a long open spout with spade-shaped mouth, a double ring-handle with an elaborate thumb-piece and a hinged domed lid with a small knob. Two small lugs protrude from the sides decorated with an ornate palmette design. The body stands on quite a high pedestal with splayed foot.
