A pottery figure of a court lady standing quietly erect with an upswept hairdo. Her hair, face and neck are left unglazed (except for some small impromptu splashes of amber glaze). Her elegant long robe is colored with an amber glaze.Comes with a certificate from a Chinese Government auction house.
Period: Tang (618 - 907 AD)
Size: Height = 24.5 cm (9-5/8 inches)
Condition: Very good. Has no breaks. Normal wear and small chipping of glaze on the front of her dress (see photo). Under magnification, the very fine crackle and microscopic pitting is consistent with pieces of this period.
