Bronze Oil Lampstand - AMD.258, Origin: Central Asia, Circa: 12 th Century AD to 13 th Century AD, Dimensions: 21.5" (54.6cm) high, Collection: Islamic Art, Style: Khurasan, Medium: Bronze. The cast bronze lampstand consists of three parts- base, stem and tray. The base is decorated with birds in roundels and a pseudo-Kufic inscription, the shaft with arabesques or pseudo-Kufic, the tray with a central bird and naskh and Kufic inscriptions. The inscription in the centre is auspicious.
