The Kushan Empire was a state which at its peak stretched from the Caspian Sea to Afghanistan and southward to the valley of the Ganges
IT had diplomatic contacts with Rome, Sassanian Persian Empire and China.
This region for many centuries was the center of trade between East and West.
Having taken over the south, the Kushans extended themselves in the heart of the region traditionally known as Gandhara
They adopted many elements of Hellenistic culture of Bactria.
