A early stone and wood sculpture by Victor Chaca a famous artist from Mexico. Appears to be from the 1970's to 1980's. This sculpture is of a natural river stone with a carved face mounted on carved and polished wood. Measures: 13 1/2" inches High.
Victor Chaca was born in 1948 in Juchitan, Oaxaca.
He comes from a family of carpenters and "Chaca" in fact means carpenter in zapotec. His work deals with the circus of life, both in sculpture and in his paintings.
