circa: 2000 width: 18 height: 40 length: 17 These Northwest style ladderback dining chairs are handmade from solid oak by a third-generation English cabinetmaker. The solid oak is treated to an elaborate finishing process that includes hand-finishing and distressing, while the rush seats themselves are finely woven to produce comfortable yet firm seats that are as beautiful as they are sturdy, producing a lovely contrast with the oak. The ladderback design itself, a typically English design, is modified in these dining chairs to produce a distinctive Northwest style, which is denoted by the number and shape of the rungs as well as by the pad feet and turned framing. Because these ladderback chairs are English-made--and solid oak at that--they are extremely sturdy and promise to last for generations. We also offer a variety of matching handmade dining tables that would look great with these Northwest style ladderback chairs.
