circa: 2000 width: 48 height: 40 length: 16 This exquisite flame mahogany chest of drawers is a new reproduction handmade in England by a third-generation cabinetmaker. The inverted bow front design certainly sets this gorgeous chest apart, giving it a classy look that, when combined with the remarkably rich flame mahogany, will look great in any setting. The wood itself was treated to an elaborate finishing process that ended in a fine wax finish, which both protects and enriches the natural beauty of the wood, and which is superior to other, cheaper forms of finishing. The solid brass swan neck pulls mahogany crossbanding contrast beautifully with the flame mahogany, while the shaped bracket feet are as sturdy as they are elegant. Of course, each drawer features hand-cut dovetails, which is one of many indicators of hand-crafted quality. Because this chest is brand new, it is in excellent condition, and would make a fine addition to any furniture collection.
