circa: 2000 width: 50 height: 94 length: 14 This exquisite 8-foot mahogany bookcase is a newly crafted reproduction of a Georgian Period antique. As such, it is handmade by a third-generation cabinetmaker, who always uses only the finest techniques and materials available. The result is a stunning bookcase with a remarkably rich mahogany complexion and grain. Of course, the striking appearance of the bookcase owes in large part to the subtle and elegant optional inlays that run up and down the face. The mahogany itself is treated to an elaborate finishing process that ended in a hand-rubbed coat of wax, which not only makes it beautiful, but also durable against use. The moulding also looks great, while the plinth base is firm, and all six shelves are thick, strong and fully adjustable.
