circa: 2000 width: 27 height: 31 length: 16 This gorgeous burl walnut bachelors chest is handmade in England as a Georgian period reproduction. Today, both the design and the craftsmanship remain as beautiful a combination as they were in the 19th century. The burl walnut, for instance, being treated to an elaborate finishing process, displays a remarkably rich complexion and a striking grain. In lovely contrast with the walnut are the solid brass swan neck pulls and, of course, the bowl star inlay of satinwood and ebony. Optional distressing in the walnut also helps to give this chest a truly antique appearance. Structurally, this chest is as sturdy as it is beautiful, as it is made of solid wood with walnut veneers. Each drawer features hand-cut dovetails, while the shaped bracket feet promise to keep this chest standing for decades to come. Even the brushing slide retracts and pulls out with impressive smoothness.
