SOLD Antique 19th century Persian Qajar Dynasty Islamic copper Lota – ewer of flattened bulbous shape with circular base, long hand wrought baluster neck, swan shape spout surmounted by perching bird. Hand engraved and chased with floral design.
A Lota is a ewer without a handle commonly used in Islamic countries for ablution after using toilet, so to be practical it usually does not have a handle.
MEASUREMENTS: 36 cm (14 1/8 in) tall to the top of bird on the spout.
