The burial tradition includes a ceremony in which the bones of ones ancestors are re interred several years after death. You are looking at a Batak medicine container from the Sumatra Batak people. The body(made from wood and mature bamboo-hollow inset) were used for storing traditional medicines and sometimes jewelry.
