1940's - early 50’s Folk Art Nautical / whaling Americana Archtop Guitar; Most likely a Harmony.
Here is a super cool old American arch top guitar!
In the day it was decorated in nautical ; whaling motifs during the mid century.
The original pick-guard is painted as a whale. There is a large fouled anchor, mid body, beneath the strings. There is what appears to be a starfish or ray between the tail-piece and the fret-board is painted in gold and red (much worn from playing).
What an awesome piece of whaling nautical Americana!
The guitar is in very good condition for age, with a straight neck, low action, good frets and an excellent body with no cracks (just age wear and scratches as in photos).
The tuners and bridge are replacements and the tail-piece looks original (although there appears to have been a different tail-piece employed at some time). The pick guard is original and very rare to be intact!
The guitar has a V neck (I just love these) and plays very well and sounds great.
A unique piece of mid-century Americana that can be wonderful décor and taken off the wall and played!!!
Absolutely unique!!!!!
Sold as is.
Comes with mid century lined chipboard case in good condition.

Thanks for looking.
