Comprised of a metal frame and wiring the sides are wooden, presumably a relic of the original polar expedition of Henry How gate. After publishing his plan for "polar Colonization" How gate's plan was for an international collaborative effort of related and simultaneous observations of weather and magnetic phenomena in the Arctic.
