In 1822, westerners stumbled upon one of the most spectacular finds ever discovered - in total 920 kg (over 1 ton) of meteorites were found. Located in the Atacamba Desert of Chile (one of the world's driest locations), conditions were perfect to preserve these amazing examples, keeping them virtually free of rust or decay. This beautiful example comes from this important find. Imilac, pallasite comprised of iron and numerous near gem-quality Olivine crystals. 12.4 grams, measuring just over 1-1/2" square.
