Rare genuine Georgian period quizzing glass - late 1700s to early 1800s. The mount is gold (the surround tests as about 9ct -12ct, the lower ring as 15ct) and is set with little baroque natural pearls. Item measures 7.7 cm long by 4.1 cm diameter top surround. There are some repairs to the rear of the top frame, and the glass is scratched, but all in all, this is a rare and beautiful survivor.
