An unusual and rare Pre-Columbian necklace of ancient ivory-colored scorpion eggs and ceramic disc beads that were discovered together (it was restrung in Columbia). The multi-strand necklace of alternating scorpion eggs and ceramic beads are strung in a bi-tone arrangement - 4 strands of scorpion eggs alternating with dark reddish brown beads on one side, 4 strands of scorpion eggs alternating with ochre-colored beads on the other that are looped in the center and doubled back to the clasp. It is ingenious to have used scorpion eggs as beads centuries ago. They must have been worn for protection and power as well as beauty.
