Harper's Weekly, May 17, 1862 - page 311. Black; cream. Paper. Civil War. This original page contains two wood engravings. The first half page print is titled, "The United States Hartford, Commodore Farraguts Flag-ship, Which Led The Squadron Up the Mississippi." The initials, "GP," for Granville Perkins, are in the lower left corner. It shows the Hartford under full sail and steam with cannons at ready. The second half page engraving is titled, "Pickets Conversing Before Yorktown--A Common Scene--Sketched by Mr. Mead of the Vermont Brigade." It shows pickets from both sides talking to each other. Their conversations are printed in balloons.
